Services that the SF Builders Exchange offers

The SF Builders Exchange offers four primary services.

Service 1: Online Plan Room

The SFBX provides a service for online plans. All projects' plans, specifications, and addenda are available in their Plan Room. As a contractor, you can print these tasks at home or at work. You can use this to stay current whether you visit the Plan Room in person or online.

The exchange also provides construction document notarial services (by appointment only). Throughout the year, they also hold social gatherings and seminars where members can mingle and get to know one another.

Please call the exchange at (415) 282-8220 if you still need to get a password (you must be an active member of the exchange in good standing to obtain a password.)

Service 2: Plan Room and Weekly Plan Listing

The SFBX maintains a physical and virtual plan room where members can review construction plans, specifications, and project documents. This service simplifies the process of acquiring project-related information. It ensures that members are well-informed during the bidding and construction phases.

For contractors needing ample space for estimating their work and dimensions, the SFBX has a large working area in their Plan Room. Additionally, they provide all Class "A" members complimentary wireless access to their facilities. Their website, which contains hundreds of the plans currently on file with the exchange, is updated daily.

The exchange operates on a customized computer plan tracking system. The tracking system enables SFBX to keep tabs on all potential positions opening up at the exchange soon.

Service 3: Insurance programs

The San Francisco Builders Exchange also provides insurance plans such as group health, dental, vision, life, workers' compensation, 401(k), and liability plans. Additionally, Provident Central Credit Union also offers options for members. Our members can access the abovementioned services at cheap, discounted group rates.

BECC Workers Compensation Group Program

The Builders Exchange Compensation Council (BECC) was established to procure and administer group workers' compensation insurance on behalf of our members in collaboration with the State Compensation Insurance Fund. Other benefits of joining the BECC include newsletters, educational seminars and materials, annual safety reviews, claims management service, and a potential bonus dividend. Members of the BECC also enjoy a sizable discount on workers' compensation premiums.
