Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with Nikon Instruments, Inc., 1300 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, NY 11747-3064, for the purchase of stereomicroscope instrumentation – Nikon SMZ800N for research activities for ecological and aquatic restoration, modeling and forecasting environmental efforts.  THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES OR PROPOSALS.

The minimum needs for this supply contract is one SMZ800N complete system to include all OEM functioning parts, computer, monitor, full installation setup and training on use of scope. SMZ800N must be available for delivery to Vicksburg, MS no later than 6 weeks after receipt of order. This unit will be used in research that utilizes specialized equipment to identify and dissect endangered and invasive species and specimens. 

The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516 – Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation document exists for this requirement.  However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit capable quotes, including price, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar product.  All capability statements received by the closing date of the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Capability statements shall be submitted only by e-mail as a Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, or Adobe PDF attachment to Shinita.M.Jordan@usace.army.mil and Sonia.J.Boyd@usace.army.mil.  Statements are due by 3:00pm Central Time, Monday, 16 December 2024.  No phone calls will be accepted.
