SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DIVER COOLING SYSTEM IN CONTAMINATED WATER
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) is seeking information on commercially available cooling systems to be worn by US NAVY Divers in contaminated waters. Contaminated water is defined as water that contains any chemical, biological, or radioactive substance that poses an acute or chronic health risk to exposed personnel.
The cooling system should be capable of integrating with existing contaminated water diving equipment worn by the diver including Viking™ HAZTECH and HD dry suits, full body wetsuit, KM 97 with and without neck dam connection, or Full-Face Mask (FFM). The cooling system would ideally function in surface supplied, “free swimming” or untethered, and topside standby diver configurations. The cooling system should be capable of reducing thermal burden to sustain the following work rates:
