By way of this notice, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Chicago District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces its intention to award a sole source contract to 5S Components Inc. (hereinafter, "5S"), located at 630 Fifth Avenue East Mc Keesport, PA 15035.
The Chicago District intends to establish a firm-fixed price supply contract for between USACE and 5S for the replacement of seven Pulsed Power Switch Assemblies. Under the proposed contract, 5S will be required to provide the following Pulsed Power Switch Assemblies:
Part # AA-10381-001 - 30kA Pulsed Power Switch Assembly
Part # AA-10372-001 - 3.5 kA Fish Barrier Demo Switch
Part # AA-10373-001 - 1.5kA Fish Barrier Demo Switch
The proposed vendor has been the only known provider of the aforementioned items for several years, wherein providing the required assemblies. Given that 5S has the sole means to acquire the Pulsed Power Switch Assemblies, this acquisition is available from one source, the proposed vendor.
This notice does not constitute a solicitation for offers, proposals, etc. However, interested firms may send a capabilities statement NO LATER THAN 4:30p.m. (CDT) on January 19, 2023.
