The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale one (1) items of standing timber on approximately 141 acres within two (2) separate blocks A&B at Fort Barfoot Military Installation, Nottoway County, Virginia of which approximately the following volumes to be harvested:
These sales are sold per Item by unit, harvested timber will be sold by being scaled at the receiving mill by WEIGHT by the ton.

Contract Period of Performance:
*Purchaser (s) will be issued a time restricted contract from date of sale with special terms as follow. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the Northern Long- Eared Bat Myotis septentrionalis as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. All tree felling operations are restricted by federal law and must be completed by 1 April 2025. There will be no exception or extensions to this contract to allow for additional time due to military uses.
Item # one (1) Blocks A & B clearcut harvests – All tree felling shall be complete by close of business 31 March 2025; all tree skidding, processing, chipping, hauling, demobilization, and site repair work, if any as directed shall be complete by close of business 30 April 2025.
ATTENANCE AT THE PRE-BID TOUR IS REQUIRED Friday 6 December 2024 BEGINNING AT 9:00 a.m.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 1:00 p.m. THURSDAY 12 November 2024 by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, on site at Fort Barfoot, and then publicly opened and announced.
All sale areas are outside of streamside management zones. All timber for harvest is designated standing timber contained within the defined sale area boundaries. Harvest operations and associated work shall comply with the State of Virginia Forestry Best Management Practices for Water Quality. No trees will be harvested within the SMZs. The sale area is located south of U.S. Rt. 40 and west of Tower road, also south of Wilcox road and along Pine road. All indications are that military metal contamination will be negligible, if any.
