The Naval Surface Warfare Schools Command (NSWSC) San Diego, California has a requirement for Water Testing and Treatment Services for their Engineering Training Lab located at Naval Station San Diego, California. The NSWSC utilized water cooling towers to cool fresh water that is used in place of sea water normally used on ships as a cooling medium for shipboard equipment. To utilize the actual equipment installed on ships, NSWSC has installed shipboard equipment in a lab using fresh water as a cooling medium. This fresh water is prone to bacterial growth due to expose to the outdoor elements that can/will hinder cooling.
