NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.

This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract, set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District intends to solicit and award a sole source contract for the rebuilding of CAT bulldozer Model D7  to John  Fabick Tractor CO, 1 Fabick DR., Fenton, Missouri 63026-2928.  The anticipated completion date will be April 30, 2025. 

To support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – St. Paul District mission to maintain navigable waterways, the CAT bulldozer, an essential component of the Dredge Goetz Fleet, must be fully operational prior to May 1, 2025, the start of dredging season.

The D7 is located just south of Keithsburg, IL. The government requires Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM i.e. Caterpillar) parts which are only available from the manufacturer, Caterpillar Inc., who distributes parts exclusively through its dealer network. Caterpillar parts and certified technicians are exclusively available through Caterpillar’s network of dealer ships. The Caterpillar dealer network has exclusive geographic territories for its dealerships.

This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.  All responsible sources that could provide comparable services may submit a capability statement that will be considered, by email to Theodore R Hecht Jr, Contract Specialist, at theodore.r.hecht@usace.army.mil, by 2:00 pm central standard time, November 19th, 2024.  All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.  A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government
