How To Get a Contractor License in Solon, Ohio

Note that all registrations expire on December 31st of each year. To become a licensed contractor in Solon, the following must be presented in order to secure a contractor registration:

  1. A completed Solon Contractor Application
  2. A surety bond in the amount of $25,000
  3. Evidence of general liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 each occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate. The City of Solon, Ohio is to be listed as an additional insured.
  4. A completed and "sealed" City of Solon, Contractor Registration Bond form
  5. Electrical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Hydronics, and Plumbing trades will need evidence of a current license issued by the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board. Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm/Detection trades will need evidence of a current license issued by the Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office.
  6. A registration fee of $75. An additional fee of $10.00 will be included for each additional trade, and the additional trade will be specifically listed on the bond. Checks should be made payable to the city of Solon, Ohio
